Meet Peter Maietta
Peter has chosen to call Palm Springs home because it is the most inclusive and diverse place he has ever lived.
A successful businessman by trade, Peter has lived all over the United States. He owned an architecture and interior design firm for several years, and spent the previous two decades working in financial services, product development, and managed budgets of millions of dollars and teams of all sizes. These skills give Peter the experience to understand and solve complex problems, and run a multi-faceted organization like the City of Palm Springs.
Peter earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Northeastern University in Boston and has always maintained a love for politics at the local level. He lives in Desert Park Estates with his two dogs, Sherman and Marley.
Peter believes it is his time to give back, and is highly involved in the community.
He is an appointed member of the Palm Springs Board of Appeals, sits on the Fundraising Committee for the Palm Springs LGBTQ Center and the Homeless Committee for the Courageous Resistance. He is also a member of the Stonewall Democrats of Palm Springs, Democrats of the Desert, the local chapter of the Human Rights Campaign, and has volunteered with Equality California. When he lived in Boston, Peter was a long-time volunteer with the AIDS Action Committee. An avid animal-lover, Peter supports the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Utah, where he has used his vacations to volunteer with the animals in need.
